HPTuners

- Base price, single tune (includes 2 credits, single fuel): $700
- Each additional credit beyond 2: +$50 per credit
- Transmission tuning: +$150 (plus any required credits or TCM unlock cost)
- Flex fuel tuning (base + additional): $400
- 2018+ Mustang: 4 credits required
- Coyote engines with modifications (long tubes, throttle body, intake, etc.): +$100 over base price, plus any additional licensing costs
- DOD and O2 code disables: $250 to $350 depending on vehicle and credits required
Note: Trans tuning may require the TCM to be shipped to HPTuners for unlocking, which is an additional cost. Muffler deletes do not fall under the Coyote modification pricing.
Standalone ECU
(Link, Haltech, FuelTech, AEM, Holley)
- Pre-packaged ECU base file: starts at $750 (covers up to 8 hours / one day of tuning; $150/hr after)
- Non-prepackaged ECU files: starts at $1,500
Pre-packaged base files contain pre-populated sensor data for reference. They are not necessarily used to operate the vehicle.
Retunes
- Retune pricing starts at $450 minimum. If you have had modifications or repairs done since your original tune, contact us to discuss what is needed before booking.
Pre-Tuning Checklist
This checklist must be completed and signed before tuning begins. Any items found not to be in order will result in the tuning session being halted until repairs are approved by the customer.
A $100 deposit is required when scheduling your tuning date. This deposit is applied toward the final price. The deposit is non-refundable in the event of a cancellation with less than 24 hours notice, or if any checklist items are found not to be in good working order.
- Install fresh, new spark plugs before your appointment.
- Replace any faulty sensors before your appointment (TPS, MAP, O2 sensors, etc.).
- Verify the charging system is operating properly.
- Ensure the drivetrain is in good condition, including wheel bearings, suspension, and related components.
- Perform a boost leak test and fix all leaks before your appointment. Even if you do not think you have one, perform the test at the boost level you intend to run. The tune will not be accurate if performed with a boost leak.
- Ensure fuel pressure is properly set.
- Ensure boost control and wastegate are correctly plumbed.
- All vacuum and boost hoses must be secured at their ends. Replace any hoses that are chafed, cracked, or suspect.
- Ensure all exhaust and turbo components are tight and not leaking.
- Confirm your ignition system can handle the power and boost level you are targeting.
- Check that you have good tires and proper tire pressure.
- Check all fluid levels (engine oil, coolant, gear lubricants) and ensure there are no fluid leaks of any kind.
- Ensure the coolant system is fully bled and radiator fans are working properly.
- If the car is smoking or has excessive blow-by, have it inspected and repaired by a professional before your appointment.
- Check for any check engine lights. Make us aware of ALL active CELs before the tuning process begins so we can determine if they need to be addressed or disabled.
- Inspect the engine harness for breaks or exposed wires. Broken or exposed wires should not be twisted and taped together. Check all ground connections.
- Verify the fuel pump is in good condition and capable of supplying the fuel volume needed for your target power level. If you are unsure of its age or condition, replace it before your appointment.
- Ensure proper timing and confirm the timing belt is in good condition.
- Inspect the throttle body and throttle controls for sticking, blockages, and cable condition.
- Confirm the clutch is rated for the torque you will be making, not what it was making before modifications. If the clutch begins slipping during tuning, the session will need to stop and a re-tune will be required after the clutch is addressed.
